Hi there and welcome to my first pattern release for 2018 – the Summertime Sling! This design evolved out of a request – I had the lovely Susan from Homespun Magazine contact me quite some time ago now, to ask if I’d be interested in designing a little girls handbag pattern for their October 2017 children’s issue. Given that I, at the time, had two little girls myself who fitted exactly within the age range she was thinking of, it seemed like it was meant to be and I got stuck into designing a pattern to fit the brief. Zoom forward several months to now and it is finally time for me to release the pattern to my customers! Of course, I couldn’t just keep it at one size so added a larger size to the pattern as well, changed the name to something more in line with Andrie Designs, and there you have it! One versatile Summertime Sling pattern coming right up!
My testing team had an absolute blast playing with this pattern and really embraced the option of adding embellishments and piecing the outer panels (or not)! Each and every bag looks completely different from the next so you’re sure to gain some inspiration from this pattern! Have fun!

First up we have our gorgeous pair of cover girls made by the talented Chris from UnThreaded!
Next we have this beauty made by Elizabeth from QuiltAngel Creations! I love the added embroidery across the middle panel!
Jane from S’more House made this funky roller skates-themed one! Awesome!
Liz from Bitter Candy Design tried something a little different for hers and omitted the strap altogether, and used vinyl and other water resistant fabrics, creating a very darling (and great sized!) make up bag!
Totally loving this poultry-themed one made by Leslie from Love Rubie!
Rachael from The Scottish Bag Co made this gorgeous version using Alison Glass fabric and, naturally, had to fussy cut those front outer panels to continue the print… WOW!
Check out that beautiful, handmade, fabric flower Milagros used to help embellish her Summertime Sling!!!
Melisa from Melisa Jane made this gorgeous floral and geometric one!
I’m absolutely loving the floral and textured grey used in this version made by Kristy from Handmade by Kristy!
Rosemarie from Rosie Blooms got stuck in and made three, yes three, Summertime Slings! Check them out!
Aimee from The Little Bird Designs made this gorgeous hot pink and horses-themed version! Awesome!!
