Mobile & Savvy Sling

Introducing the Mobile & Savvy Sling by Andrie Designs! This is an easy to follow sewing pattern to create a practical cross body bag that comes with two sizes included – standard and custom enlarged.

~ The Mobile & Savvy Sling was first featured in the October/November 2020 issue of the Australian ‘Homespun’ magazine as the ‘Mobile & Savvy Pouch’ pattern ~

This cross body bag features a large outer zipper pocket on the back, an equally large slip pocket on the front, a full zipper closure and an adjustable cross body strap.

Clear and concise construction techniques make this a quick and easy sew for gifts, market stock, or simply for yourself!

This pattern comes with one file containing both the pattern instructions and the pattern pages. It has 12 pages of clear, detailed instructions. It is suitable for an advanced beginner sewer. All pattern pieces have been digitally drawn.

Wary of zippers? Don’t be! Throughout the pattern I give detailed and comprehensive instructions and diagrams to make adding the zippers an easy and stress-free experience.

The finished sizes of the Mobile & Savvy Sling are as follows:

STANDARD –

• Width – 9” (23cm)
• Height – 8” (20cm)
• Depth – 1/2” (1.3cm)

CUSTOM ENLARGED –

• Width – Up to you!
• Height – Up to you!
• Depth – 1/2” (1.3cm)

Materials Required (Standard Size):

• Outer Fabric, Slip Pocket – Outer (i.e. quilting cotton) – 3/8yd (35cm)*
• Lining Fabric, Zipper Tabs (i.e. quilting cotton) – 20″ x 10″ (51cm x 25cm)*
• Slip Pocket – Lining, Zipper Pocket, Strap, Strap Connectors (i.e. quilting cotton) – 1yd (91cm)*
• Light-Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing (i.e. Pellon Shapeflex SF101, Legacy Shapeflex L-SF101) (NOTE: based on a 40”/100cm width) – 1yd (91cm)*
• By Annie’s Soft and Stable Foam Interfacing (or equivalent foam) OR Fusible Fleece (i.e. Pellon Thermolam 971F, Vilene H640) – 20″ x 10″ (51cm x 25cm)*
• 2 Swivel Hooks, 2 D-Rings, 1 Slider – 3/4″ (19mm)
• 1 Coordinating Long Pull Zipper (i.e. #4.5 YKK) – 10” (25cm)*
• 1 Coordinating Dress Zipper – 7″ (18cm)*
• Coordinating thread, scissors and general sewing supplies including fabric glue/tape.

* Please Note: additional materials will be required to make a custom enlarged Mobile & Savvy Sling and will depend on how much you extend the pattern pieces by.
