Recently I was again invited by the lovely Fiona from 2 Green Zebras to create with a new fabric range out by Sarah Golden called Maker Maker from Andover Fabrics. This collection is a cotton/linen range and features predominantly cream, grey/black, mustard and navy colours (with a splash of pink and light blue thrown in for good measure).
Of course there was no way I was going to turn down the opportunity to work with such gorgeous prints, especially knowing they were a cotton/linen blend – how perfect for bags!! After much pondering, I decided to make a Cleo Everyday Wallet first up.
Not familiar with the Cleo Everyday Wallet? Not to worry! You can find the pattern here!
I decided to choose this combo for my Cleo –
I’ve known for a long time that navy and mustard work brilliantly together, but it wasn’t until I started playing with these fabrics that it really cemented for me what an awesome combo they are!
For this Cleo, I also decided to rivet the wings at the end (instead of sewing them as per the pattern directions). To make my life a little easier, I thought I’d try punching the holes for the rivets BEFORE installing the wings – you never know unless you experiment, right?! Thankfully, I’m pleased to let you know this worked perfectly and made installing the rivets SOOOOOO much easier (and faster!) at the end!
Not sure how to install rivets? They’re super easy! Feel free to check out this post from my Hardware Heaven series on installing rivets! You can find the post here.
Here is my gorgeous Cleo in all her glory –
And of course a better shot of those stunning rivets holding the wings, and therefore the wallet, in place –
Maker Maker is out now so make sure you hunt it out at your local fabric shop or online supplier next time you’re in the need to buy some fabric! It’s divine to work with and feels just amazing made up as a wallet… And bag… Make sure you pop back here in a few days time to see the bag I made with some of the other prints from this collection!

I’m eager to know though, which print from the Maker Maker collection is YOUR favourite?
Happy sewing! Lisa x
I’m loving all the new fabrics from 2 Green Zebras and the Navy and Mustard Cleo showcases the fabrics beautifully. Perfect for the bags and accessories I make – will have to add to my list.
They’re certainly gorgeous Sandy and as you said, perfect for bags and accessories! Happy sewing! 🙂
