Heavy Hauler Tote Bag

Introducing the Heavy Hauler Tote Bag by Andrie Designs! Originally released back in 2015, this pattern has been re-invented and given a fresh new look to bring it back up to Andrie Designs’ standards!

The Heavy Hauler Tote Bag has been specifically designed to carry a heavy load – whether it’s books for a trip to the library, or large water bottles to take to the big game – this bag is sure to make carrying your heavy load just that little bit easier!

With instructions included on how to use water resistant fabrics for the lining, the Heavy Hauler Tote Bag is as versatile as it is practical!

This pattern comes with two files – the pattern instructions/pieced pattern pages, and a large print pattern pieces file suitable for printing at your local print shop on the correct sized paper. It has 14 pages of clear, detailed instructions. It is suitable for an advanced beginner sewer. All pattern pieces have been digitally drawn.

The finished sizes of the Heavy Hauler Tote Bag are as follows:

SMALL SIZE –

• Width – 11 1/2” (29cm)
• Height – 10” (25cm)
• Depth – 2 1/2″ (6.5cm)

LARGE SIZE –

• Width – 11 1/2” (29cm)
• Height – 15″ (38cm)
• Depth – 2 1/2″ (6.5cm)

Materials Required:

• Outer Panels, Zipper Tabs (e.g. quilting cotton) – up to 1/2yd (46cm)
• Pocket (e.g. quilting cotton) – up to 1/2yd (46cm)
• Lining (e.g. quilting cotton, laminated cotton, PUL) – up to 2/3yd (61cm)
• Handles, Closure Tab (e.g. quilting cotton) – up to 1yd (91cm)
• Light-Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing (i.e. Pellon Shapeflex SF101, Legacy Shapeflex L-SF101) (NOTE: based on a 40”/100cm width) – up to 2 1/4yds (2.1m)
• By Annie’s Soft and Stable Foam Interfacing (or equivalent foam) OR Fusible Fleece (i.e. Pellon Thermolam 971F, Vilene H640) – up to 32″ x 18″ (81cm x 46cm)
• Firm Fusible Stabiliser (e.g. Pellon’s Peltex #71F, Legacy #71F) – 2 1/2” x 5 1/2” (6.5cm x 14cm)
• 4 Rectangular Rings – 1 1/2″ (4cm)
• 1 Slim Magnetic Snap – 3/4″ (20mm)
• 1 Coordinating Dress Zipper – 12″ (30cm)
• 1 Pair Internal Wire Frames – Style A (an Emmaline Bags product available here or from any retailer that sells Emmaline products) – 11″ (28cm)
• Coordinating thread, scissors and general sewing supplies including fabric glue/tape.
